| I am a bit amazed that the other KERS teams (Renault and BMW) didn't adjust and make use of the obvious benefit of the KERS on such a race course as SPA. Especially after the KERS had helped Hamilton so much in his win in the last race. The faster the course, the greater benefit the KERS system seems to have. Raikkonen was the going away favorite for this race in the wagering worlds, even before the qualifying runs. His history of many wins at SPA, coupled with the KERS, and his high finish at Valencia ( another very fast KERS type course) had made him an easy favorite.
Not sure why McLaren seemed so inept after 3 races where the car seemed superior. (LOL... except that Hamilton crashed before 1/2 way around the 1st lap. ) The Valencia race course was similar in speeds, but without the big elevation changes. |
