Seems like the Dinan warranty where between the manufacturer warranty and the aftermarket parts warranty you are still fully covered, that is the point. What a spectacular car and will upset many Lambo owners with a view of it's brake lights.

Wow, that looks great! The owner should stop by the West Chester Cars and Coffee in the spring sometime, that would be a great car to see there.

Wow I just joined the forum and was surprised to see so many opinions about my car. Lets start with the wrap...I like it, others absolutely love it. Driving around Philly people go gaga over the wrap. I think the original Audi paint job sucks. The paint is thin in spots and it had a ton of swirl marks that I couldn't ever seem to get out. Maybe if I keep the car I'll have it re-painted altogether. For now the wrap works alright.

The engine mods taken as a whole are phenomenal. The power comes on progressively and aggressively. The suspension seems magical in the sense that their is very little space in the wheel wells yet no matter how poor the road conditions or my maneuvers I have never had it rub or bottom out. The handling is exceptional.

I had the car dyno'd at AWE and the AWHP was 592. Depending upon conversion factors (and I have heard many opinions on this) the engine HP may be as high as 738! The 0 to 60 time seems like its right around 3.0. That's my seat-of-the-pants opinion.

So in summary, the opinion from one who owns many modded cars, is that for a modded car this car is well balanced, an easy car to drive, super fast and has made an awesome daily driver.

Oh one more thing...that warranty issue. Here's the deal the best that I can see it. Most manufacturers who discover that you have modded their cars will treat you like a serial killer no matter that the particular mods may have nothing to do with the particular problem that brings you into the dealership. You're kicked to the curb period. Now with Audi/STaSIS IF the mods are the CAUSE of the failure Audi will not make the repairs but STaSIS will. If the mods are unrelated to the failure Audi will continue to honor the warranty. Best of all I didn't have the mods done at some fly-by-night garage with toothless Tommy the motorhead supervising the install. It was installed at a nationally recognized Audi dealership who stands behind the whole process. They have said verbally and in writing that at the end of the day if I was abandoned by STaSIS and Audi that they would service my car under warranty. What more do I need? And truth be told when you're spending 170K for a car and 60K for some mods is a warranty all that important? If a warranty is something that concerns you, and I'm not saying that it shouldn't, then a 230K supercar is probably not something you need to put on your Christmas list.

Congrats on your car. It is awesome.

I do have to point out one thing though regarding the warranty. The warranty is provided by Audi USA, not the dealer. So your dealer can't perform warranty work if Audi USA will not honor it.

But the point is moot for you, as you already mentioned. If you can afford the car to begin with plus the additional mods, then you aren't all that concerned with the warranty anyway.

Great first post and Welcome! I live in Chester County PA and have visited that dealer many times - def a top notch place. Your car in its stock form is a great car!!! (saw one today at Porsche of the Main Line) --- and with your mods that you have done i think this is THE best R8 i have ever seen. Cant beleive its local too. If you find yourself wanting to take it out on a Saturday morning come on by our weekly Cars & Coffee in West Chester at the Starbucks on 202 (dilworth road). Congrats again on a great car & Tommy, thanks for sharing.

Axxlrod, all I am saying is that should I get into the middle of a dispute between STaSIS and Audi the dealership has promised that they will repair my car even if they have to make the repairs on their own dime. But as you say I am not overly concerned and am prepared to deal with what may come.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I would love to drop by the CC in the spring. Happy holidays to the forum and thanks to those responsible for maintaining this great site.
