I'm not wild about it either gentlemen. The supercharged six cylinder isn't all that exciting, the body styling is bland, and for the money, there are a lot of other things available. One could purchase a used RS4 or E9X M3 for the price of the S4, like JC points out.

Or, an '03 M5 and some type of decent 4WD (for dogs, hunting, hauling, etc.) for the price of an S4 payment. The verdict: it's a no go!

Cliffnotes: Although big proponents of the RS4, they think recent S4's have been pretty lame. This one is just a tad better than the trustworthy 335i. Without run-flats and with a 6-speed or DCT, it would be a different story.
