Even if the emissions were met, there is still the Recreational Craft Directive specification on noise. Even the 662 requires the two stage underwater X-haust system to comply. The Stage 1 X-haust system shown in Merc's Miami booth, with the 1100, has not yet been tested.

I asked that question for a friend of mine in Germany. "The problem in the EU is the CO specification. Merc Racing can't make the CO limit at 1300, or even 1100 hp."

Yes. It is coming, though the entire marine high performance markets' emissions amounts to one mouse turd in all Manhattan...
