NYC Summer Housing
Guys,
After a few months of interviews, I received an offer to work at a firm in New York this summer. I am extremely excited to be able to spend some time in the city but am now in the midst of the search for short-term housing. I will be working in midtown from June 1 - August 16th and would like to find a 2 bedroom unit nearby (maybe midtown, upper east/west sides) for around 3000-3500 per month.
Anyone on here have experience with finding short term housing? I've been looking on Craigslist and sabbatical homes, but it seems like a broker may be the way to go. Is there a forum sponsor who does short term rentals in the city?
Also, though I will be working most of my time, if anyone has bar or restaurant recomendations, please feel free to send them over. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to explore the city a bit.
I realize I've started more threads today than I have in the last few months, as I typically just read the articles on the forum, but I assumed you guys would be a great resource to help with my questions.
Thanks a lot for any help,
- Christian

Kind of a tall order for that price range if you want to be in a nice doorman building, two bedroom units are well over $5k per month but maybe you can find a sublet, start with craigslist I would think.

Yeah DJ unfortunately for the summer I won't be able to get up to a much higher monthly rent. The doorman building is not a necessity, but I assumed there may be a few younger guys on here who have been through this process recently. Hopefully there's some Teamspeed events going sometime over the summer. It'd be great to meet up with any other member in the city for a drink.

Seems like that's definitely the best option. I will keep looking. Thanks for the help DJ!
Also, if there are any great car events happening in the city this summer, please send me the info. It seems like there is a strong presence from the Team up in the NorthEast, so hopefully there will be a few of you guys coming through at some point in June or July.
