i know what you mean, it can definitely consume you if you let it. i kind of got to that point, it became my life, the only thing that mattered. i needed to step away for some perspective, i was also not focusing on my education or anything else really. that was one of the reasons we moved to the states. i was really upset at the time but it was probably for the best, my driving style has always been so ragged and on the limit that i probably would have gotten myself killed at some point if i had reached a higher level.

sad thing is i still think it would have been worth it.

its funny you mention your burns, ive got 3rd degree burns on my chest and thigh from starting too young too! i started in little 50cc shitters back in denmark, local level then national level. JICA, ICA, then a year in Formula A before moving to the states. we moved to dallas and suffice it to say the karting scene down here wasn't thriving so its been on and off since then. ive got a buddy with an alonso kart that ive tried a few times, these latest chassis are razor sharp, really get the blood flowing and get you back in the mood. im too competitive to do it recreationally so ill need to get back in properly whenever i do it again. im working in afghanistan for the next couple years but ill be getting back into it at some point for sure.
