2008 Maserati GranTurismo iPod help

Hi All,

I have a 2008 GT with the USB/aux inputs in the glovebox.

When I bought the car, it came with a factory Maserati wire in the glovebox that has both a first gen iPod adapter as well as an aux input cable. It's one cable that has a little box with the Maserati logo on it that splits into 2 cables, one for iPod and one for aux.

I've plugged my iPod (fifth generation with the old style connector) and at times it integrates fine and I'm able to have connectivity through the central screen (the Maserati logo and am able to change songs via the steering wheel etc.. but at times (quite frequently actually), the stereo changes from the iPod to stereo. It seems to disconnect from the iPod intermittently and the iPod goes to charging mode and as though it's hooked up to a charger. You can then only control your music through your iPod.

Does anyone know why this happens? Furthermore does anyone know how this can be fixed? Any and all help would be truly appreciated.

Thanks

C
