Yeah these prices are Australian based. For a brand new X6M your looking at minimum $160 000 all the way up to $200 000 for full features etc where as the SRT8 has only 1 trim comes with the whole lot for around $100 000 - $110 000
( Australian dollar )

If you're not sensitive to the difference in $, then I vote X5M (I know you asked about the X6M). Rear visibility and rear seating is sh*t in the '6'.

The X5/6M and SRT8 are going to provide very different experiences. The X5/6M is relatively quiet and smooth comparatively. The interiors/options available are also very different, but that's to be expected when the price delta is so great.

That said, the SRT8 will sound/feel faster.. (it's not) and it's half the money. Pretty cool looking truck IMO.

BTW, I completely disagree with the person who wrote that the X5/6M's don't handle well in non-M mode. They do, astonishingly well, even without the delayed stability control intervention resident with M-mode active.

G/L on your decision.

srt8 - much cheaper, much more practical, and it just looks much more badass

I agree with the jeep looking more mean.

The x5 is still just a 5 series sedan with different top so I don't think it will last in the Outback

That being said I followed a x6 for 100k plus down the autostrada and it was pretty darn quick for 4000lbs

I myself couldn't swallow the added 100 money

Hi,

But it's a Jeep. Every recent Jeep I've been around has been falling apart like a Tasmanian bicycle, repairs are a mammoth expense, and mechanical issues seem to be the order of the day for them.

The support network in Australia for American cars is pretty slim as far as I can tell.

Cheers,
Nik
