I would be willing to try that.

Does anyone know what the expected value of an E60 V10 is?

I would think about buying a coupe and throwing it up for this. SMG or DCT or whatever BMW calls the flappy paddle thing would be a nice idea too. It would be the car that has BA on its wallet when it goes on a road trip. If I got to keep it I would pay some of the cost too...

That is a euphoric sound.

g power already did this swap awhile back

"Despite the added weight of the V10 engine, the power to weight ratio still improves from 3.9 kg/hp to 2.7 kg/hp. The engine conversion alone for G-Power is still not enough as they seduce 43hp more for a total of 550hp and 38 Nm of torque to 558 Nm. 0 to 100 km/h drops from 4.8 sec to 4.2 and 0 to 200 km/h comes in a scary 11.6 seconds. Top speed surges from 285 km/h to 335 km/h."

That's definitely the V10. Not as apparent from the front, but from the back the sound is clear what engine is beneath the hood.

Hmmm. Listening to it again, I suppose it does sound like the V10. Perhaps my recollection of it is a bit skewed since my M5's 'natural' sound was warped by aftermarket headers and mufflers

I'd love to drive that. The S85 is such a great engine.
