I love old bikes, but IMO if you're gonna urban commute an ancient full suspension like that isn't worth it. You can pick up a bombproof singlespeed hardtail MTB for like $500 (Say a used kona unit or similar) throw some 1.5" tires on it and you're good to go for the next 10 years.
