Hi Alex,
Yes I have heard also of one case..happened in the Porsche sports cup series in germany..so a few people are aware of it..
However...with these low production numbers its difficult to get a grasp of how good they are really. However, again - from the experience from the Porche Sports Cup - its clear that the 3.8RS had the most issues..GT3 3.6 and 3.8 seem to indestructable. Same goes for GT2..about GT2RS I havent heard anything either..but thats more your genre..right?
take care,
PS: that one car got its engine changed three times...? no..this sounds a bit unrealistic..

PS: forgot to mention of course that it can also depend on the owner ..like mostly...
What Im trying to say, If someone completely mishifts..but even then..I know og GT3 engines having an entry at stage 6 (Porsche officially then already says - "engine dead") and they are still driving araound..
So it really depends..if was some 70 year old driving his 4.0 for the first time on the track...everything is possible..
