Spied: 2013 Face-lifted Mercedes-Benz GLK

Our trusty Teamspeed spies spotted the face lifted Mercedes GLK again during some cold weather testing in Northern Sweden today. We can clearly see this time the GLK will receive the new LED-technology that its bigger brothers have adopted.

Quite a few changes will take place inside as well, with the current model's center console mounted gearshift lever expected to be swapped with shifter stalks located on the steering column. If you look down at the lower part of the interior image you'll notice the empty space in the center console where the gearshift lever used to be.

Power-plants will be adopted from the current C-Class, ranging from an entry level turbocharged 1.8 liter 201hp, all the way up to a thirsty 302 hp 3.5-liter V-6, a Blue-tech variant is a possibility as well.

The face-lifted 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK is at least a year away so we will look for a possible world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next March.

I still really don't understand why they don't sell this in the UK. This size soft-roader is incredibly popular over there as the runaway sales of the Evoque have proven.

Seems a very odd decision for Merc to not take the fight to BMW, Audi, VW, Range Rover et al with this revised model.

That is a stupid move. Especially since they're made in Germany/North Africa

It always cracks me up how the car manufacturers go through the trouble of taping over the steering wheel logo when a test mule is this far along.

I feel sorry for who ever drives a GLK. It's like a C-class wearing winter boots.
