Jeep has released renderings of three concept vehicles it plans to show off at this year’s Moab Easter Jeep Safari outing, promising that three more will be revealed before the event, which takes place at the end of this month. The first three are the Jeep Mighty FC, Jeep J-12, and the Jeep Wrangler Apache. The company didn’t release any information about the three concepts, but based on some of the wares Jeep has rolled out for past Jeep Safaris, they’re probably going to be pretty awesome.
Jeep Mighty FC Concept
The Mighty FC pictured above looks mighty interesting. It appears to be a cab-over pickup styled after the Jeep Forward Control of the 1950s and ’60s—hence the “FC” in its name. This tall-looking rig is probably the only Jeep that could top a Wrangler pickup both literally and figuratively. Needless to say, we’re pretty geeked about it.
Jeep J-12 Concept
Based on the sketch above, the J-12 concept looks to be a Wrangler Unlimited fitted with the JK-8 Independence pickup conversion kit and the face of a 1960s-era Jeep J-series Gladiator truck. (We’re guessing the 12 in the name is in reference to the calendar year and not the vehicle’s cylinder or wheel count.) It even has the brow fitted above some of those trucks’ windshields. No, we’re not sure why the artist chose to render the J-12 against a plaid background, but we’re hopeful it alludes to a plaid interior. Or maybe a plaid-lined bed. Or both.
Jeep Wrangler Apache Concept
Out of the three concepts Jeep revealed today, the Wrangler Apache concept looks to be the least radical, at least in preview-sketch form. The rendering only shows the front of a dark-colored Wrangler Unlimited, along with a portion of a beefy tubular bumper and a Warn winch. Oh, and it has a bright blue stripe.
