Basically it's a lever that cams on a lock bar. When the lift goes up, the lever drops the cam over the bar. Then you use the hydraulic release to lower it onto the lock bar. Mechanically it can't fail unless it has a loose bolt or ten...
I would much rather have had a 3-bay garage... so much more convenient. This is a good solution for keeping all of my babies safe and sound (and clean!).

I've got 7 four post lifts. I've always felt safest with 4 locks.
Looks damn heavy duty.

I picked it because it's intended as a storage lift. The company makes many of the commercial lifts used in NYC. It's really simple to use - a big plus when I'm running the 911 on weekends and the Golf R as my DD.
