F40 Video...

Video of Ferrari F40 production and test drive...the music blocks out the sound of the engine though for part of the test drive.

Question about the door handles(string), how do you open the door, do you pull on the string, up or down, towards you ? And is it something you worry about accidentally opening while driving?

You pull the wire towards you. No worries as far as opening them while your driving. The one I opened needed a decent tug to open the door.

All for saving weight!

Had some time this weekend, so I addressed an issue on the F40. The fuel pump sits on top of each tank and has a pigtail connector that brings in the electrical supply. Since it sits on a flat surface, the area is prone to collect water, and corrosion sets in the connector. This leads to a bad connection and intermittent fuel pump operation. In short, you get a loss of power and a stumbly idle.

So, this weekend, I took it apart and had a looksee !

Here is what the end of the connector looked like ! I cleaned it up and reassembled, but there was still a little stumble when I moved the connector. The end had melted slightly and was making poor contact....hence, two new connectors to be ordered !

Here's a look to never get to see...the entire brake cooling set up. The outside NACA duct feeds into ducting on the back of the wheel well. This in turn gets fed into piping that puts cool air directly onto the brake disc.

continued...

The big pipe end connectors to a rubber hose that dose the majority of the cooling. It attaches directly to the brake hub assembly.
