I bought the concealed display for $49 whatever it was... still haven't taken it out of the box. There are times that I wish it were mounted, but still use the V1 from the windshield just fine. I understand the logic, and I'll be honest, just too lazy at the moment to implement it...

Not so big on that fuzzy stuff. This is the cleanest job I've seen, although not a V1.

The only gripe I have with the placement of that V1 remote display is that when you are actually driving the car, it must be pretty hard to look down that far to try and figure out where the radar is coming from.

I don't want to threadjack, but this is probably the cleanest 9500ci install I have come across.

rear laser shifter was mounted into the rear bumper.

There's a company that makes an interface that can interface the V1 with the little dash message display area on BMW's.

Saw a guy with it, and his V1 hidden in the dome area, totally awesome setup.

I believe you are referring to the mid-city piece. They specialize in Mercedes-Benz but do offer products for BMWs as well. A little too integrated for my tastes, but to each his own.

Remote locating the radar unit in the dome area is optimal, as it is the highest central location on the vehicle, however in new vehicles especially BMW's and Mercedes' you have to be considerate of the front windshield options. Specifically heated windshields and distronic which will interfere with the radar's ability to receive signals.

I have a Stealth One box that puts the V1 display in the gauge cluster of my M5. Love it!
