I was going through the same exact dilemma myself BUT I went with the C63BS because it's brand new and I didn't want to get an RS that was a few years old and about to run out of the factory warranty. Since there will only be 30 or so C63BS coming to my country it will be just as rare of a car as the RS and the resale value shouldn't be as bad as other AMGs in the past. Honestly if the BS doesn't work out for me the RS would be next, but I would only settle for a new one that hasn't been sold which would be hard since you don't get to pick your color/options if there are even any left.

Another reason is because I was able to get a good trade in price for my previous 09 CLS63AMG at the MB dealer. Don't get me wrong, I love Porsche and I will no doubt get a RS in my lifetime but I want a brand new one which is why I am waiting for the next RS to come out. The C63BS should keep me entertained until then. I'm not really using the BS as a DD since I have a 2011 CLS63 for that and I do intend on using it lots at the track.

Congrats on the RS! Were you able to get a 2011 one that hasn't been sold or are you going for a slightly used one?

A word of advice though as I learned with my 09CLS63, once the new 11CLS63 came out my 09 value dropped drastically which is usually what happens with every kind of car, new model comes out, old model less cool. So now is a perfect time to get your RS since there won't be another GT3 or an RS for that matter for at least a few years to come.

How is that even a question? RS without a doubt.

I agree but keep in mind hes talking about a used/2 year old RS vs a brand new BS. If the RS was brand new then it would cost way more than the BS, probably almost double where I'm from for a well equipped one for similar performance. Still though, the RS is amazing but both aren't very ideal for a DD. Just my .02.

Not a suprise at all that this is the response that you got. The GT3 RS is a great car and an incredible track car.

Most people on here seem to be much more familiar with Porsche's than they are with a Black Series. The GT3 RS is a proven performer, for most the CLK Black is not.

I would bet that out of all of the posts in response to your question, only a small handfull have ever driven an AMG Black Series.

I have quite a bit of time on track in an RS and own a CLK Black Series. Overall I am quicker in an RS than the CLK Black but I will tell you that I also believe that 90+% of weekend warriors would be faster in a CLK BLack than they would be in an RS. The last 2/10ths in a RS can be a bit to master. By comparison, the CLK Black makes average talent look fairly good on track. For most I do believe they will get more enjoyment tracking an AMG Black Series if it is also a daily driver. Oh and even as much of a Porsche guy as I am the exhaust on AMG's are tough to ignore!

Since you made your decision, congrats! You now own one of the most capable track cars on the planet! Be sure you learn how to drive it. Have fun and be safe!

He's talking about the 2012 C63 BS not the old CLK BS, or maybe you were just using the CLK BS as a reference?

Just using the CLK Black as a reference as I have not driven the C Black yet but I do expect it will be an even better performer.

Unless the future AMG Blacks really get their weight down, I think it will always be hard to topple Porsche as the ultimate street car that you can track.

But with that said, I do prefer front engine cars to mid or rear and I like the driving dynamics that AMG has built into their cars. If the C Black is half as much tail happy fun as the CLK Black is then they have a winner on their hands.

And the sound.......
