I saw one the other day. Meh. The first generation is one of my all-time favorite cars. They took a great design and over styled it IMO. The front is is exactly what you said, generic. The rear, more so taillights, are terrible looking. Love the interior and engine though. This thread needs this...

Now that's an ass

$140k as tested price pretty much takes it off of my list.

There is no way I'd pay that for the car.

I'd rather get a used Bentley instead.

It's a 5.5 biturbo now. Badging retains 63 AMG nomenclature.

This 2012 CLS63 has a 5.5L Bi-Turbo. They kept the same nameplate.

I agree, $140K is highway robbery. I could have a C63 AMG, CTS-V, and a Ducati 1198SP for roughly the same price! (60,000 + 60,000 + 21,000) That would be a KILLER garage!

Went to my MB dealer 3 days ago where we have purchased a number of MBs over the past 10 years. They had non AMG 12' CLS fully loaded in the showroom. Was thinking of trading my wife's 10' E550 for it to give her a little sportier car look. I am impress with the 402 hp engine that gets better milage then our 10' E550. However, the sloped roof line in the back is too extreme. I wouldn't want any one in my family or friends to feel cramped back there. My 17 year old daughter is 5'11' and she would hate it if she were in the back seats for some reason. It's nice and the AMG would be a the best variant to buy but I agree the $14OK price is too high for a car that would loose so much value in 2 years.
