Another update. They were promised to be in our hands at S Car Go Racing no later than 4-16-09. It looks like they will make the deadline.

Chad,

The first Liner is almost complete. I will have the finished Prototype here at the end of this week. If everything measures out to our acceptance, I will have the other 5 finished at once. I can be sure that the set will be made exactly as we spec them and hopefully by the following week end.

As I have mentioned in previous emails, holding the ID bores within spec is extremely hard now, so the manufacturing process had to be changed. We had to make several Liners all differently to come up with a final process to hold our ID requirements.

As soon as I have seen the final part and measured it and it is Ok, I will send through an invoice for payment. By the time you receive that and make payment we should have the other 5 done and here.

NH

The displacement of this motor regarding both bore and stroke is as large as physically possible utilizing a Porsche case. There is not more clearance available for either more stroke or larger piston/liners. The flow will require utilizing larger turbo's than previously attempted on these motors. The wrist pins have been raised as far as possible to gain rod length and still allow a safety margin at the domes for the extremely high lift cams.

We are still on schedule for firing her up on June 16th.

The 3 mm cylinder liner housing shims with be completed and delivered by Friday. These along with raising the wrist pin height on the pistons is where we are gaining rod length which prevents the rod speed from becoming too fast.

Joe, I will do one better. You can take her for a ride.

We plan to enter a few contests ...... but we do have to finish her up first. She has been down since February 2004. I've been a little pissed at how long it has taken to re mock her up with the liner manifold shims so we can obtain the final rod length. I think everyone involved is concerned about getting the length right. The rod manufacture has promised us a two week turn around time once he has the diagram filled out with all the numbers.

I spoke wiith Rob at S Car Go Racing today. I was told the homework on the pistons will be finalized by the end of the week. The pistons will go into production the first of next week. They will have aturn around time of ten days. It was a little more involved than raising the wrist pins 3 mm's. The skirts had to be modified to clear the crank along with a slight relief being required of the case.

The mocked up piston will be sent to CP on Monday. They already have the design of my old 104.5 mm pistons so bottom line is the dome design will basically stay the same ..... but for some relief on the dome to bring down the compression ratio a tad. The wrist pins are going up about 3mm's (into the bottom ring) and the skirts will be shortened a bit to clear the crank.

The pistons are designed to withstand 1400 hp and 1100 ft pound of torque.

Update ........ a little behind schedule.

Hello Chad,

Thank you for the check. It will not be deposited until we have the 1st Liner fully finished. I expect this to be today or tomorrow. We have had a little hold up here. Nothing much, just a little behind. Should be back on schedule today or tomorrow.

I need the manifolds here ASAP , as we have to machine these to suit the Liners. I would also like the case as I would like to do the first machining in house to ensure everything is correct. Can you have Rob ship the case and the manifolds ASAP. I have to machine the manifolds before we do the last machining process to the Liners. This last process is very critical but is not a process that is limiting us on knowing if everything works OK. It is just a tolerance that has to be held within a couple of 1/10’s. We machine the manifolds and then finish machine the Liner as it is easier to hold this tight tolerance on the Liner than the manifold.
