Driving home today in Chicago was the worst winter weather I have ever driven in. I counted 7 cars in ditches or crashed along the highway (I290, I294) The wind and drifting snow was crazy.

Yet, the 997 turbo handled the slick conditions and drifting snow with aplomb. The grip on the Continwintercontacts is great. I felt reasonably stable at 40 mph on the highway...passing AWD SUVs sliding around. And, the grip on turns and through snow/ice was pretty good. Combine this with reasonable dry grip properties, I think these winter tires are amazing.

That said, I was mostly death-grip-on-steering-wheel nervous because of all the other yahoos out there...
