Thumbs up Breaking Leak: The Ferrari 458 Spider, This is it!

Ferrari 458 Spider: This is it

The first official images leak out on the web!

Leaked from Maranello are the first official images of the new Ferrari 458 Spider. As Teamspeed reported a little while back the new spider will feature an all new lightweight retractable hardtop ditching the cloth tops of previous models. First EU deliveries will be at the end of the first quarter, while UK deliveries will be at the beginning the third quarter. We do not have the exact date for the US market, but we expect it to follow the UK. Pricing has yet to be discussed, but we gather it's safe to tack on another $40k USD to the coupe's base price.

Power will be carried over from the coupe version but expect some technological improvements to keep the 458 Italia ahead of the competition. This is the first time, since the 355 Spider which ceased production in 1999, that we will not see a clear engine cover on the rear deck-lid of the two seater Ferrari spider variant.

Those images look similar to the ones for the coupe, unless they were taken in a similar manner.

Edit: maybe I'm wrong, can't find similar ones.

Looks official to me.... I liked Wild-Speed's rendering better. The rear humps look too sharp.

Overall, it looks really nice though.

They do look like official pics. The studio lighting is typical Ferrari style.

I agree that the humps do look too sharp but that side profile is gorgeous.

Now that these are out, official shots won't be far away.
