Matt Farah Gives Us a “One Take” On the Ferrari F355

One Take

There’s something a bit special about the F355. It came at a changing time in Ferrari’s history, but for a few more reasons than you’d expect. It was, at the time, Ferrari’s highest-volume car, with over 11,000 built. It was the first to be named after an engine technology, rather than the number of cylinders in the engine. And it was also the last Ferrari to be styled in such a unique way.

The Smoking Tire‘s Matt Farah’s love for the F355 goes quite far back, but his last time in the driver’s seat was a number of years ago. The video below is a re-introduction for him, and it goes better than expected. Carving through the canyon roads in the F355 makes for a perfect setting, with howling V8 behind him, and gated shifter in hand.

Even with how well it drives, and how wonderful it looks, there’s an elephant in the room: Service. Every few years, you’ll likely need to yank the engine on the F355, which can slice your bank account by $15,000. That’s a hefty sum when you consider that the entry price for the car actually isn’t out of reach for the hard-working among us. That’s quite sad.
