Alfa Romeo’s Montreal Is the Perfect Classic Italian to Make You Say “Wow”

This Beautiful Bertone-bodied bombshell has been making moves on MotorWeek recently, showing off its gorgeous curves and rakish profile in the video below. The Alfa Romeo Montreal remains one of my favorite cars to ever come from Italy. It’s not the fastest, and it’s not the best handling, but it sure does have that “wow” factor. There are certain things we want from a classic car, and the Montreal provides them in spades.

This car’s engine sounds fantastic, it has style for days, and it really makes you sit up on the wheel for a highly-involved driving experience. This is a motor you would want to drive, just for the sake of driving. Imagine getting lost on a back-country road for hours at a time. This isn’t a car, it’s emotion on four wheels, which is what Italians do better than anyone else.

This may not be a perfect car; it certainly has its faults. But for every foible, there are a thousand great things about the Alfa Montreal. This short video is definitely worth watching — you might just learn a thing or two about the best Alfa ever made. With only about 100 of these cars currently in North America, there is a chance that you may never see a Montreal on the road. Heck, there’s a chance you may never see a Montreal at an Italian car show. Careful, though, as this video may cause a lifelong desire to own one of these rare birds.
